About

PEBC is an education nonprofit that works with teachers, schools, and districts nationwide. We prepare outstanding new teachers, help good teachers and leaders become exceptional, and shape systems and policies that foster vibrant growth and lasting success for students and teachers. Our experiential teacher licensure program places teacher residents side by side in classrooms with mentor teachers for a full year. While completing licensure coursework, residents gain hands-on experience which prepares them for exceptional teaching careers. After successful completion of the residency year, residents are eligible for a Colorado Teacher’s License. We offer residency experiences in rural, urban, and suburban schools across Colorado.

This is where I’m supposed to be. PEBC was a tremendous stepping stone. I needed them to be there. Their support hurtled me forward a little faster, and really helped me leap into teaching, a career I love.

Program Info

PEBC's Teacher Residency believes the classroom is the best place for teachers to develop the skills they need. Residents gain support as they work side-by-side with a mentor teacher while completing licensure coursework and have the opportunity to earn a Masters degree through one of seven partner higher education institutions. No prior teaching experience is required. Residency experiences are offered in public, private and charter schools in rural, urban and suburban schools across Colorado. The option to work as the teacher of record employed by the school district is offered in rural areas. View our partner higher education institutions here.
